Thanks to @ Score - WE WERE NOT DEAD! The “rentrée” is here and with it we have the great pleasure of announcing a new 10TRAX. Number 70 comes from Score aka Chris Tate, from Newcastle upon Tyne (United Kingdon). We discovered Chris though the band called d_rradio (deathrowradio), which he was a part of alongside Paul. The band was active since the beginning of the year 2000 until a few years ago (s/o youtube for its inexhaustible hidden goldmine). After exchanging virtual conversations, Chris offered us this sweet selection of 10TRAX, undertaken under his personal project Score, that he defined as “a real meditative, late-night affair”. For us, it has been a breath of fresh air for the hot summer nights in the city, an alternative soundtrack for any of our deepest dreams, beautiful harmonies to laugh or cry… Chris says: “I'm a musician, producer and mixer from Newcastle upon Tyne, in the UK. Between 2003-2013 I was part of d_rradio/deathrowradio, who had many releases on independent labels such as Distraction, Static Caravan and Symbolic Interaction. Since 2013 I have been releasing solo music under the name of Score and so far I have had album releases on Cruel Nature Recordings and Symbolic Interaction. In 2014 I made a score for ‘Jhalak', a short film by Tim Sessler and in 2015, my wife Jill and I made a melodic ambient album based around field recordings, which was called ‘One' and was also released on Symbolic Interaction. I'm currently involved in a songwriting collaboration with Jennie Brewis from The Cornshed Sisters, and a psychedelic band collaboration with some musician friends in Chicago. I also mix other people's records”. You can listen and support Score´s music here: Thanks Chris for your kindness, respect and time. Congratulations for your previous work and all the best for the future! “I'm actually a man of few words so how about we use a couple of the lines from the first song, I couldn't say it better than Dennis Wilson did: Your life is beautiful, a seed becomes a tree Live in harmony and love will set you free” Peace. - TL 1.
