10TRAX#53: Adam Feingold

Hosted by Undermad

Thanks to @adamfeingold - Just like a couple weeks ago, this weeks mix also comes from Montreal, a city of great artists. Adam Feingold, also known as Ex-Terrestial, shares with us a great selection full of 70s, 80s and more contemporary jazz. We first came across Adam around 2014 after his release on Funkineven's label Apron Records. From there onwards we have always kept a close eye on his projects, such as the amazing EP Paraworld out on 1080p (under his moniker Ex-Terrestial). Last year he released his second EP on Apron, as well as releasing on Forbidden Planet's sub label L.P.C. Adam is working right now on his own label, Temple Records, which he co-runs with Matthew Salaciak and Max Segal (aka Variant) who featured on the first release, and Richard Wenger (aka R Wong), who featured on the third release. Adam and Matthew also share a live and improv band project called Room Band, where they mix tribal rhythms with different pads, atmospheres and analog synths. They had the chance to showcase it in the last edition of MUTEK. He told us this about his mix that: “The idea for this mix was to keep it vaguely in the realm of jazz, starting in the 70s and moving towards more of the diji jazz sounds of the 80s. There's even a new cut from a very talented musician who goes by the name Gamayun. This winter I've been working on loads of music and new projects, some of which will be released in the coming months. Djing regularly in Montreal and occasionally abroad. Digging a lot and hanging with the temple crew as always. Lots of inspiring stuff. Spring is almost here in Montreal, feeling very excited.” From Undermad we would like to thank Adam for his time and for sharing this selection with us. Hope you are all enjoying spring :) Peace out. - TL 01. Golden Avatar - Seers Of The Truth 02. Heliocentric - Arrow 03. Swamp Children - Samba Zippy (Part Two) 04. David Borden - Dick Twardzik 05.
